The first thing I would try is a hard reset. Press the top button and the home button at the same time, until the Apple logo appears. Then release. Does it show in your settings that you are connected to wifi?

Thank you, I have already tried a hard reset, both the wifi icons are green, but it does not connect to my home wifi or any hotspot, have taken it to an Apple service centre, they have confirmed this is a hardware problem, and in my area there are several similar cases, could be a serious wifi chip compatibility problem, when you upgrade the ios software, am awaiting a favorable response from Apple centre, tq
