Network/Carrier unlock for ipgone 3GS

Hi All,
I have iphone 3GS, its jailbreaked and i can use with all networks.

Its on Firmware 3GS
firmware:4.3.3 (8J2)
Carrier : Orange UK 10.0
Modem Firmware : 05.16.02
Model : MC131B

I want to know is there anyway i can permanently do carrier unlock on this phone?
I bought the handset second hand, so i cant get hold of original owner to request the unlock code from the UK orange provider.

Any help would be appreciated

No, there is no way to permanently unlock the phone. Your only option to unlock would be to update to the iPad baseband, 06.15.00 and unlock with ultrasn0w.

Now will this change be permanent and after updating my baseband to http://www.iphoneforums.net/forum/members/jmills87-27383/06.15.00 will my iphone 3GS will still activate through Itunes etc.
Will this work for barred/blocked phones too?
