Can I restore to to 4.2.8 or am I just sol until someone cracks the code.

Or can I download the link to my computer and when I play with iTunes it will send me back in time.

Can I be really delusional and contact apple and say I want to downgrade?

If you don't have your SHSH Blobs save you can't downgrade and there is no way that apple will let you downgrade if you call them because updates are to fix "issues" that they want to address.
