My Home button won't work?

I'm having trouble with my Home button actually taking me anywhere. I may press it several times, but it won't move through the screens like it should. I've tried turning my phone on and off, removing some apps, and rebooting the phone. I don't know what to do!

open up the stocks app, then hold down the lock/ power button until it says slide to power off. then hold the homebutton until the slide to power off screen closes and so will the stocks app. hopefully this would fix it. it might work. hope this helps, it worked for my friend..

Welcome to the Home Button Haters club, Brian. Mine is sluggish too, but works with enough patience. If your phone is under warranty, take it to the nearest Apple Store, if possible, and put he the ball in their court. If not, just Google the problem and see what kind of results you get. They say that "cleaning" the button with isopropyl alcohol will help. But this is a clear indictment on Apple's failure to get this issue right.
