Hi all,

My wife's iPhone was lost or stolen last week in Mexico. She got a replacement phone and today received two separate text messages from two different numbers where the messages said:

P****@c****.net, your iPhone 6 has been found. View location (iCloud - Find My iPhone) Playa del Carmen, 77710 Mexico, at 03:31PM.

when I click on the link it asks for my Apple ID and Password.

Does anyone know what this site is? How do I find out more information without giving up my username and password to a site that I don't know?

Thanks

That's a scam site designed to steal your Apple ID and password. The thieves want the information so they can wipe the stolen iPhone and use it themselves. DO NOT respond to that text message.

Thanks - that is what we assumed but I could not find any information on this particular scam on the web.

You're welcome.

Apple will never ask you to enter your Apple ID and password on a non-Apple website as this scam did.
