Is there a way to block my cell phone number?

Since upgrading to iOS 6, I am unable to block my cell phone number, unless I use *67 before each call. Before, I would go to Settings > Phone > Show my phone number > Off. I cannot do that now. Any suggestions? Is there another way? Thanks.

Your carrier might be able to do it for you. Do you have AT&T? I think I recall that GSM phones had this option before, but CDMA phones did not. Verizon had to set it up on their end.

I have Verizon. Will I need to call them to do this? Thanks for your reply.

I don't have mine blocked, but my husband and his associates all have theirs blocked on Verizon (don't want clients to know their numbers). They had Verizon set it up when they got their phones. I would go to a corporate store as apposed to a retail store if you can. Or try over the phone.
