ipod touch problem

I jailbroke my friends ipod touch 4 generation about a week ago and there were no problems at all. Then he clicked software update in the settings app on the ipod. Its now stuck in recovery mode, and I can't restore it. I am getting the error message 2005. I have no idea whats wrong, can someone help me, the ipod is unusable now.

Hold POWER+HOME button together for 10 seconds, and when you see boot logo, release Power button and keep holding Home button to release it from Recovery Mode. MAKE SURE YOUR DEVICE IS UNPLUGGED WHILE DOING THIS.
If it doesn't work, try programs like iREB to get out of recovery mode. Otherwise, if you click on restore button in iTunes, it should get you out of recovery anyway!
