I can't connect/restore/upgrade my 4th gen. iPod Touch.

I found my old 4th gen. iPod Touch laying around, and I want to restore it so I can give it away since I have a new iPhone, but when I connect it to my computer, it tells me that it "doesn't recognize the usb device", and doesn't connect to iTunes. I never had problems with the iPod itself, it's in perfect condition, and so is my computer. The only problem is that it's jailbroken, and it's still on the 4.3.3 software. I assume this is the cause of the issue but I can't find out how to get rid of it! Any help would be appreciated.

Uninstall your USB port drivers from your PC, reboot your PC, and plug it in again. Then try putting it into DFU mode and restoring it.
