iPhone voicemail asking INCOMING callers to enter voicemail passcode?

I placed a call to my husbands iPhone today and after ringing 4 times the voicemail picked up...said his full name and then said “please enter your voicemail passcode”. I hung up thinking maybe I pressed something by mistake and called back. It rang 4 times and then said to enter the voicemail passcode. I hung up again but decided to call back {3rd time} and listen to the full message. It rang 4 times and when the voicemail picked up it said to enter the voicemail passcode but if I had entered the wrong mailbox to enter the correct mailbox and enter the voicemail passcode. Any ideas of why that would happen?

Call your cell provider, it’s their functionality. It may be that you and your husbands accounts are allowing sharing or another issue.
