Wired has a great article today all about just how good the newly released iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus camera is, and it seems that they’re very impressed with the results. In particular, Wired says that the iPhone 6s photos are much sharper, with clearer detail, than previous iPhone photos. “It’s honestly kind of insane,” they say.

And well it should be, to be honest, as that is exactly what the new 12-megapixel sensor is supposed to do, i.e., make the picture more detailed, leaving more room for cropping and editing of pictures.

Wired also acknowledges what many of us have been saying for quite some time, that the iPhone is very much a “professional-level photography tool,” with the latest phone “giving pros the kind of access and raw data they want.”

As far as the new Live Photos feature is concerned, Wired says that it’s very easy to use: all that happens is that when you press the shutter, the camera shoots one-and-a-half seconds of video before and after you press it.

It also sounds like the front-facing selfie camera has improved, with the new ultra-bright screen flash greatly enhancing your selfies.
