iPhone 4s from Apple store

Hi,
I purchased an iphone 4s off Apple's website last year, I am currently trying to sell it however I am unsure as to whether it is unlocked or not. Does anyone know if iPhones's from Apples website are default factory unlocked or if there is a way for me to check if it is?

phones from Apple are unlocked in the UK,I'm not sure about other countries.
