iPad 3 on iOS 5.1 jailbroken in 3 hours

Musclenerd tweeted earlier today that he jailbroke his iPad 3 within 3 hours of getting it. He said there's still tons of work to be done and that there's no ETA as usual. It's good to have a foot in the door

i0n1c and chpwn have each released pictures/videos of jailbroken iPad3 as well. And yes, it is untethered!

Does that mean that an untethered jailbreak for A5 devices will be available soon? Oh I hope so.

Not necessarily, if you remember, the iPad2 was jailbroken very close to it's release by comex and it was months before we saw a public release. However, seeing as how there are 3 different developers with knowledge of the exploit, I doubt it will be long this time around.

It's an userland exploit I think, and if it is for sure then A4 is in as well.

Ummm no. He's not fake, in fact we owe most of the 4.3.x jailbreaks to him. He is just sick of people asking for an ETA and acting like he owes us something.

No, there are no 5.1 jailbreaks for A5 devices yet.

If he is sick of people asking for an ETA, one would think that he would not post on the WWW that he has achieved a JB for the most recent iOS and/or a brand new device from Apple. With fame comes hardship of the public's scrutiny and people just looking for fame without producing something real is just that "fame seeker" specially the ones that have been "forgotten/pushed to the back" by the mass because someone with more talent is now up on the pedestal.

Funny how he now blames the people crying for an ETA and the people calling him a fake and states he will NOT release a JB. Good excuse if you ask me.

Lol ya I hear you why post that you did a JB on twitter/YouTube/etc.... For the whole world to see if you didn't want them to know,and to ask an eta.

He never said he wasn't going to release it.... he simply said there is no ETA(about a million times). If I were him I would feel the same way. The jailbreaking scene is 95% immature little kids with 0 respect that just demand things for free and whine when they don't get instant gratification.

GeoHot left the scene for this very reason and I know many other developers have felt like leaving for this as well.

This is very true - sadly. Mostly kids between 13-17. Don't have a job yet and want it all. :-/

Heck, some of the devs themselves are 14-21. Lol!!
