iBooks - lock screen orientation?

I did some searching and found no answers...and not this same question either.

Is there a way to lock the screen orientation in iBooks?
I want to read my book in portrait mode when the iPhone is physically lying in landscape mode.
I tried pressing/swiping on different parts of the screen to see if a lock/unlock button would come up, but nothing did.
(That's how Kindle did it on my previous Android, so I figured I'd give it a shot.)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Double click your home button.

Scroll left once.

Click the button that is gray with a circular arrow on it on the left hand side of the play controls.

Done

I see that those directions lock the entire iPhone's orientation, not merely iBooks'. But it's better than nothing.

Very true, but it is the only solution I have found that works in 18 months of using iOS.
