that would be great - thank you. is that a general principle? that if there's no folder addressing a "themeable" aspect in a given theme folder that the "default" system theme is used? therefore erasing a cydia theme's folder for a given look will revert it to "default"?If you have ifile you can tweak the theme by deleting the keyboard color and then color keyboard should work. I will have a look to see what files you need to delete
What theme are you using? I'm using dark ho][ow and it does not override ikeywi or color keyboard
thanks, Quisty! the main theme that seems to be overriding my keyboard background from ColorKeyboard is a paid theme called UNIque. (used to be unique HD). in colorkeyboard you get to set a type and color of the keyboard itself but also a "background" to it. it's my user keyboard background that's getting blocked by the UNIque theme. In all cases I've found yes, albeit I haven't done it with a keyboard.
For example. The theme I'm using overrides the lock screen image but by deleting the image in ifile reverts it back to my image of choice
This was the same for the slider. You just have to know what files to delete.
If you tell me what theme you are using I will figure out what needs to be deleted
yes, it is a great theme. thanks for buying the theme to do the tests. It still wasn't working for me until - i reloaded iKeywi. then even after a respring in iKeywi where my 5 row keyboard returned the background i'd set in ColorKeyboard was still not showing. it wasn't until i turned "it" off and back on and then resprung that it started to work again. so what i can say - is that "Color Keyboard" alone does "not" override the theme's keyboard background. only in combination with iKeywi can you get a background to your keyboard that overrides the theme you're using. at least that's my experience. as of now i have my keyboard background picture working with the UNIque theme again. but it took some hoop jumping to get it here. let's face it - the jailbroken world is "not" a very stable world. that's why apple likes to highly control their os - so "weird stuff" doesn't happen. people complain about androids SO much because of the instability issues being that it can be so easily "rooted". but i still can't live without my themes and tweaks. so i'll trade some stability for the freedom i have by being jailbroken. thank you, Quisty, so much!!Ok I paid and downloaded the theme (very nice)
Anyway I don't have your problem. I have found that some of the colors don't work from color keyboard but the background does
Here you will see a custom background (my kids in this case : P) and I have changed the color to yellow, just for the example
I use a tweak for Siri background which is called "custom Siri background"
Silly question but when you select a background and color in color keyboard are you selecting save and then respring?

Quisty, from within iFile how do you copy and paste? I can't find any commands for that. None of the typical double tapping works. I know how to SSH but I'd love an option within..Right then
In ifile go to
System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ChatKit.framework
Scroll down and find this file
Balloon_Blue2x.png
Copy it (don't cut)
Then go to
var/stash/Themes/UINique.theme/Bundles/com.apple.chatkit
And paste (this will overwrite the file so you might wanna keep a backup)
Respring
iMessage will now be the default blue, however, they will be rounded and won't really go with the theme.
If your feeling adventurous lol you can copy the Balloon_Blue2x.png from the UINique theme to your pc edit with photoshop to change the colour and then put it back.
This would then match the theme. I'm gonna give it a go with mine
Ah!! The ol' edit button upper right corner trick ! ;-) Worked perfectly. Again thanks, Quisty! Now I just need a square blue bubble (instead of Apple's rounded one) to match the UNIque theme. I can do that in Graphic Converter I think.Find the files you want to move, select edit in the top right hand corner.
Little circles will pop up, select the file/files you want to copy/cut
You will notice a little clipboard icon in the bottom left hand corner
Select this and you have the option to cut/copy
Once you have done that go the place where you want to paste the file/files and select edit again, select the clipboard icon and this time select paste
