I can use the menu but I cant use the phone ! help needed please

Iphone 4 . . accidently upgraded from 4.0.1 to 4.2
it is now lock .. only for emergency call . ..

I bought a phonebook sim to activate it with redsn0w ..

now i can use the menu buy I can use the phone function.. no signal


what shd I do ??

What to you mean by phonebook sim? If you've upgraded to 4.2.1 then you've lost any unlock you had so it will only work with the carrier you got it from. AT&T in the USA...

oh no . .. this is really really sad ..
so is that means I cant use the phone forever ?
I just can use is as an Ipod ??

I wouldn't say forever but it could be a long time before an unlock becomes available for that baseband.

At the moment you've basically got an expensive iPod touch...
