help with data

I purchased an iphone had it unlocked by carrier and have been using it with a prepaid go card. I have googled looking for info I even paid a visit to a local shop that jailbreaks and unlocks but they say it no longer works with gophone.I have been told that using the apn changer from unlockit no longer works for obtaining data on a gophone.Can anybody add to this is it true or is there an alternate work around to obtain data on prepaid.Thanks in advance

What model iPhone is it? If it's 4S then most likely not. Other than that there should be ways to make it work.
