Since I didn't have a previous iPhone or dock, my only issue was geting usb to lighning. I couldn't use my Android cables with a 30 pin connector or a diamond one.

So yep, like a fool I fell for it, ordered extra cables and you know I don't regret it one darn bit despite the OP's obviously cynical look about this.

I can relate to the OP. After only 10 years Ford dropped the Pinto, and apparently many of my mods and options from 1980 are useless on the new models. Darn, it's some kind of plot.
