Foursquare has updated its iPhone and iPad places-discovery application in the App Store with some useful new features. The updated Foursquare app enables Handoff support between iOS and the Mac and also lets you easily access Citymapper from the app. Here's how the official changelog sounds like:

"In this update, you’ll find a newly designed homepage to make it even easier to find the hottest spots near you. We’ve also added support for Handoff so when you’re looking at a place in the Foursquare app, you can easily access it on your Mac and all of your other iOS devices. Need directions to the spot you just discovered? You can now easily access Citymapper from the app to help get you there. And as always, we’ve got some speed improvements and bug fixes. Happy exploring!"

By using Handoff in Foursquare 8.1 for iOS, it's now possible to start exploring a place on your iPhone and continue right where you left off in Foursquare for iPad, just by dragging the Foursquare icon on the Lock screen upward.

If you are not aware, Citymapper is a fast-growing, real-time transit service available on the iPhone and also coming to the Apple Watch. Go ahead and follow the link from below to download the updated Foursquare application.
