Now that apple released the new 5s is it old and outdated now that the 5s is running 64 bit. So do I need to upgrade or will I be ok. I just barely got this phone and now its outdated. How long will my phone last technologically? (i.e. when everyone had to switch to digital away from analog?)
Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't think so. The 5C is the 5 with a different shell and slightly improved front camera, so it should remain as future-proof as the 5C... I would think anyway...

I certainly hope not, i plan on keeping mine for another year.

No. The 5s is the 5 with some marginal improvements and new additions: Newer processor, fingerprint scanner, and updated camera and flash.

The iPhone 5 and 5C are the same except for a case redesign and different colors.

Thanks for the help guys. Im confused with the current 32 bit and upcoming 64bit in new iphones eventually all smart phones will be 64 bit I assume but when that happenes do I have to give up my iPhone 5 cause of outdated tech?

IF you just recently got your iPhone 5 (I got mine in April of this year) I have to say you purchased an outdated phone the moment you wrote the check ... "Some" Newer Android phones have much better specs ..so what it does not bother me a bit...

The phone works and I'm just as happy with it today as I was yesterday morning...BTW I could care less if my iPhone did not even have a camera

Eventually, and that is based long way off, things will move entirely to 64 bit. But for now and the foreseeable future 64 bit OS's will still have compatibility for 32 bit. And 32 bit OS's will still be supported.

Trust me you will own an iphone 7 or some something newer before 32 bit OS is not supported.

People are still using the iPhone 4 and the 4s with no problems I wouldn't worry about being outdated I don't see a lot of 5 out on the streets
