So been trying to do this for 2 days now and everytime I try it I have got the following error code 3014, 3194, 1 , 11 have tried everything that I have found on google deleting lines in the host files, tiny umbrella etc but keep getting errors?

any suggestions to resolve this?

much appreciated.

What version of iPhone do you have?

Because if you have a 4S, there is no way at this time.

If you have an iPhone 4 or older, there is a way IF you have saved your SHSH blobs for that firmware. However - the tools are not out for that yet. Keep watching for updates to the tools (redsn0w).

The reason why you can't, or need SHSH blobs, is because Apple is only approving the installation of iOS 6 now. You need special procedures to go back to iOS 5.1.1 ... if at all.

Sorry if you're on the 4S - and hang in there if you are on an older phone.

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry forgot to put I have iPhone 4

I have saved shsh blobs for 5.1.1 on on tiny umbrella. So I need to hang on till redsn0w releases the tool?

I managed to downgrade my I.4s from iOS 6 to 5.1.1 this way:
on my PC i go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
opened file hosts as Notepad and edited # sign to every single line like this:
Code:
# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
#	127.0.0.1 localhost
#	::1             localhost

# 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
#127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

Than I opened iTnunes and holding Shift on keyboard click on Check for Update
than select iOS 5.1.1 file for downgrade

thats all
