Dissapearing “in process” text

I was typing a rather lengthy text when I closed the message app to open another app to copy some text. When I returned to the message app, all of the text that I had entered had disappeared. Any way to retrieve it?? There was no “back up” between the time I entered the info and the time I left and came back. Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, it's gone. Text should of stayed though. It's usually only gone when you close the app. I mean, close it, close it. Double tap home and swipe it away kind of close it. Just going out of it and then coming back, it should of still been there. I do that pretty often. Not sure why yours didn't stay.

Did you open the person's thread that you were texting by scrolling down to find them? Sometimes it seems gone but isn't.
