Data recovery

Does anyone know of a way to access the data, mainly pictures, off a iphone 3G by using either known data recovery software(windows or mac) or with linux?
iphone is stuck in recovery mode and it is not jailbroken or unlocked
Tried fixrecovery, irecovery, tiny umbrella, recboot and ireb
Would rather not perform a restore and unknown if it will work anyways.

If you have recently backuped your iPhone, then your data and all are preserved by iTunes, you can factory restore it, and after that restore one of your backups.
If you do not have any backup on iTunes then you are out of luck.
