Cant jailbreak

Y friend can't jailbreak his phone on 5.0.1. We get through the whole process and it either boots up normally or we get to the end of jailbreak prompt where it should say the rest of the jailbreak is being done on the device but we get an error saying data can't be completed or something like that , any help would be appreciated thanks.

I would do a clean 5.0.1 restore in Itunes (after backup off course) and then run the jailbreak again. That's my best thought

Ya clean restore and then jailbreak, if that doesn't work specify the IPSW before jailbreaking.
