Can mine be jailbroken?

I looked into it a while back, but have forgot alot of the termonology. I gave up trying because I read that there are two types of "bootloaders" I think it was called? Bu anyway, there were new and old ones. From what I remember, mine were the new ones, and harder to hack.
So with that in mind, and it's an iPhone 3GS, with firmware 4.2.1. Will it be possible to jailbreak this? From what I understand is I'm waiting on software that can jailbreak the 4.2 firmware with the new bootloaders or whatever, correct?

4.2.1 has been jailbroken for ages.. just use Greenpois0n.com or upgrade to 4.3.2 and jailbreak with redsn0w Dev-Team Blog both are un tethered

yes makes no difference what you have, some save shsh blobs though in case they realise they want to downgrade to earlier firmware but other then that it does not matter.
