Hey all,

I do screen replacements for Iphones, and have come across a potential customer with a little more broken than the screen (headphone jack and camera in addition to the screen). Other than that though, the phone seems to operate fine.

I was wondering if it would be possible to buy an iphone with a bad ESN (for the sake of cheapness) and swap the motherboard from the broken phone into the bad esn phone, and have it work properly.

Basically would the esn transfer over with the motherboard? Or is it stored somewhere else?

Thanks,
Bill

I don't know about esn's but in the UK we have IMEI's. They are kind of the same thing form what I understand and are burned to the motherboard...

You can certainly do that but the bad esn phones run somewhere around $ 300-390 if you willing to spend that money

Sweet, cheaper than a new iphone, plus they get to keep all their data. I think i'm going to go this route.

Thanks for the info
