broken home button

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had experienced this and could give me a few pointers, which would be very much appreciated.

My home button stopped working on my iPhone 6. A quick google search reveals I should activate the assistive touch to create a faux home button on the screen. Only problem is I can't get to the settings app to do this without pressing the home button. Catch 22.

Any ideas?

If you use Siri (Hey Siri), you can tell her/him to turn on AssistiveTouch.

If you are on the most current iOS build, you could swipe down to get to your "search" bar and type in "settings" to get to the settings app.
