Auto saved photos

I have the iPhone X, the problem I have is that every image I view on social media, WhatsApp etc is automatically transferred to my photos, So much so that my phone is now full of unwanted images. is there any way to stop this as I cannot find anyone else with the same problem.
I have 30,000 photos, so going through them 1 by 1 to delete is tedious to say the least.

It’s possible to prevent the iPhone from saving images to Photos automatically.
Open WhatsApp and go to it’s settings. Select “Chats”, and disable “Save to Camera Roll”.
