Are these AT&T micro-SIM headed to the LTE next generation iPhone?

You’ll be happy to know that some things are still set in stone in iPhone/iPad rumor land. While people are still fighting on forums whether or not the next generation iDevices will get the super fast LTE 4G networking this spring or this summer, fall or winter, AT&T is doing real business. The carrier is preparing their current microSIM cards with LTE enabled feats.

Phone Arena was the first to make the discovery, although they did add, that the cards might be directed to the new Nokia Lumia 600 which is LTE enabled after all. They do like to play with our nerves! They said that this information somehow fell on their lap, but failed to mention what specific device model should be getting the cards. But since the iPhone 4S is using micro-SIM cards the next model is very likely to use the same cards, unless Apple really decides to jump over a bridge and go for nano-SIM cards.

Employees received an internal memo that read:

“To keep your micro sim inventory up to date, scrap all old micro sims [word scrambled] but keep all new micro sims labeled with same sku. You will then be sent the new ‘LTE’ compatible sim.”

AT&T will be thus following in the footsteps of Verzion who also switched to LTE microSIM cards back in October in order to welcome the Samsung Stratosphere. Sprint is still testing the wasters with the LTE technology because of the Galaxy Nexus – so there’s a big chance that they will be introducing LTE microSIM cards as well in the upcoming future.

interesting ATT finally offering lte.. though here in the uk they are still on trials in London... I hope its before the release of the iphone 5 and LTE, but also that could mean for the ipad 3.. I see there being LTE on there before the iphone
