In the past few weeks we've seen Apple approve some crazy apps and updates into the App Store. The apps and updates I'm talking about are the ones that are normally available to Jailbreak users, while Apple normally declines them. Apple seems to have become more lenient on their app approval policy.

This week, Apple approved Google Voice back into the native App Store. This shocked many, and then the other GV clients started coming in. Other apps like Handy Light(now removed) which allowed tethering hidden in a flashlight app were approved as well, and who know, maybe Apple approved them to make a few people who were lucky to get it while it was out, happy.

With Apple's newest iOS updates coming out, which have features that the Jailbreak community has had in the past. Long awaited; Multitasking, Video Camera, single contacts SMS tones coming. It looks like Apple might be fighting back.

There are so many other features that look appealing to use with the jailbreak.

agreed, if theres a jailbreak, its on my phone no doubt no second thoughts! its just better and more customizable, and yes the free stuff too lol

yes they slowly allow these apps but they also will never allow some apps like bluetooth send/receive, not that it works on jb either.

but mms and such simple features apple slowly allow, they get their ideas from jailbreakers and they can see what people want mostly, so the jailbreak community does them a favour and they got app store idea from jbers ... so why apple fights them so much, imagine buying a computer and them telling you what you can and cannot install on there? no one would buy it. so why are phones any different, though iphone is still the best phone out there atm it sucks to have it so restricted when it could be so much better.

well said and greatly agreed

I think of it as this. If you are a Diamond dealer which do you sell first? You unload your less quality ones first. And then you start on the premium ones. Keeping the intrest with supposed new better quality ones. Apple already knows what the capabilities are of ip4. Of course they invented it. They can't come out with all the best apps and abilities right out of the gate. We would get bored quickly. They have to trickle out the supposed new innovations slowly. Keeping the intrest for a couple of years until ip5 comes out and the cycle starts all over.

yes thats another point, that apple have to slowly release the features so they have something to add to the newer iphones so they have reason to release instead of getting un happy customers saying there is nothing new, something to make it worth buying the upgrade
