Will a 4s connect to a Apple iPad 2 16GB so I could iTunes?

iOS devices cannot connect to each other like that. To connect to iTunes with your iPhone 4s, you’ll have to connect to a computer that has iTunes installed.

Yeah, unfortunately iPad's aren't quite a computer replacement yet. I love my iPad Pro, but eventually I'll have to buy another computer too. With just a little more, an iPad could replace a computer entirely.

If I wasn't on a tight fix income I look for a good used 5s or 6s. I wish this had a for sale or wanted thread area.

Still won’t be able to connect the two devices to each other.

I understand that. I just want to get a newer iPhone so I can get a newer iOS and get pass the iOS 9.3.5 on the 4s which I haven't upgraded to yet.

The iPhone 5s is the oldest iPhone that will will run iOS 12. It likely won't be able to run iOS 13.
