Iphone 4S Unlocking

I'm a newbie on phone unlocking because the only Apple product I have dealt with is the iPad 16GB. Back to the main point, is it possible to unlock the iphone 4s? or rather is the iphone 4s unlockable (software wise), or is the "gevey sim" (i got this term from some other threads that i searched) necessary?

There will be a way to unlock it when a proper jailbreak is made available for the iOS 5, as for Gevey I think that they will also update their sim to unlock the new iPhone 4S.

What about downgrading the iOS to 4.x and using the gevey sim assuming the baseband comes out the same (4.11.06) thus downgraded to 4.10.01 after the iOS downgrade? Then after using the gevey sim restore it back to a custom iOS 5 firmware made with snowbreeze without updating the baseband. Is that even a possibility or is the baseband definitely going to be something new when the 4s comes out?

Ive got 19 iphones on preorder and i need to know.
