BGR has a great story today about an Android devotee who is thinking of doing the unthinkable (as far as heās concerned!) and switching to Appleās iPhone 6 Plus. The article sets out the Android fanās reasons for wanting to ditch his beloved favourite.
Jason Kallelis of Writing About Tech says that he is thinking of ending his love affair with Android and switching to Apple phones next year because of the inconsistency of Android phones.
āIām not going to lie: Iāve been tempted to run out and buy an iPhone 6 Plus on more than one occasion, and itās not out of love for iOS, but out of frustration for the maddeningly inconsistent experience on Android,ā said Kallelis. āAndroid is great! You know, usually. Until it isnāt.ā
What sparked his most recent bout of rage against Android was the fact that his Android phoneās battery life drained in a very short space of time, even when he wasnāt using it, and even though he was using Wi-Fi at the time and not an LTE network. Then, to add insult to injury, he was unable to find out how to fix the problem.
āThe detailed usage stats are useless, as usual, only telling me that āAndroid OSā was responsible, without giving any further explanation as to the actual root cause,ā said Kallelis. āThis is simply unacceptable. Fortunately I was home and didnāt need my phone tonight, but what if I had? Why does Google think itās okay for a rogue process or app to completely hijack my phone? Ideally the OS itself would detect and deal with this scenario, but itās not even trying.ā
