Hello;
There is an adaptor cable to connect the iPhone to newer BMWs (BMW Part # 61 12 0 440 796) so you can charge the phone as well as manipulate the music, including playlists, etc.
Some sites say that this cable will only charge the phone if the phone is a 12 Volt model. My Verizon iPhone 4 is 5 Volt.
My Questions:
1. I'm not sure if the info source that said the cable will only charge the phone if it is 12 Volt was a good source. It could have been a site that was selling an aftermarket version that will not charge a 5 Volt phone.
2. Is there another way to do this ? Seems like BMW is ripping me off again, wanting $75 for a cable ! There is apparently some circuitry between where the adaptor goes from two wires to one, but is it possible to easily do this another way ?
Thank you.
