4g sim card in iphone 5

Does any one know if I buy a 4g sim, could it work on 2g 3g, the reason I'm asking is I live in Swansea and work in Cardiff, There is no 4g in Swansea and sometimes there's. no 3G, so if the SIM card can't pick up 2g, there is no point in getting one,

IF ANYONE CAN HELP IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Well, i have micro sim for my 4s. My network carrier provides only 3g and 2g network. There is no seperate sim for each network type. My opinion is, if your carrier supports 4g it should work on regular nano sim car, when you dont have 4g, you turn 3g or 2g on.
