AppleInsider writes that YouTube has just launched its own Instagram-like video capture app, called Capture (of course!), which lets you shoot, edit and post links to videos on YouTube. YouTube says that Capture is made to be speedy and easy to use, giving the user immediate access to their camera once they have signed in to their YouTube account (which you must have in order to use the app). Once you have shot your video footage, you can then tweak it in various ways before uploading it, including using colour correction, stabilization and trimming. You also get the option to add background music via YouTube Soundtracks. AppleInsider notes that the app only records in landscape mode, thus preventing unsuitably-sized portrait-mode videos being uploaded. One particularly useful aspect of this app, which actually does not appear in Apple’s own in-house Camera app, is the ability to post YouTube links to Google+, Twitter and Facebook all at the same time. Very handy! You can also choose to keep the video unlisted and only show it to those people that you want to see it, or upload it to private feeds.
