won't power on when remove AC adapter.

Hello all,
I have 3GS-16GB. It has problem with the power on. If I plug in the AC adapter and it turn on. If I removed the AC adapter. then it won't turn on.
Any info . I appreciate a lot.

Too expensive to go to Apple store. Do you think I can open it and check any lose cable that connect to the battery?

There is a lot of videos on YouTube and websites dedicated to demonstrating repairs on iPhones. Ifixit.com is a good site for repair manuals/videos and ordering genuine replacement parts.

I opened it and found out the battery ribbon cable was broken. I replaced it with new battery and it work.
