Windows 7, pictures

I can not get windows 7 to retrieve photos from my i phone 4 (not s), i have ios 6 but had the problem before upgrade. I go in through computer, portable devices, double click on i phone, double click on storage, double click on dcim but nothing is there, any ideas?

Try right click on phone in Windows Explorer, select option "Import photos".

It bothers me that there is nothing in the DCIM folder, but give the above a try anyway.

Thanks Kevinjs, tried this, it comes up with the box "no new pictures or videos were found on this device", i have been emailing photos to myself to get over the problem but it in not ideal.

That's why I was bothered. The pictures should be accessible. Something screwy going on.

Just to be sure, these are photographs you've taken with the phone camera?

Yes all the photos have been taken on the phone camera

I'm at a loss. Assuming you can see the photographs on Camera Roll, I suggest resetting settings.

Settings/General/Reset/Reset All Settings

Not that I expect this to do any good. I just can't think of any reason why the pix wouldn't show up.

This works great
Then when you run explorer you will see this giving access to all of your Photo Streams
