Cannot view all of my photos in Windows Explorer

When I connect my iPhone to my computer, Windows Explorer launches and allows me to view photos in a folder called Internal Storage. However, I am only seeing the photos that I took using the phone. The photos that I added by synchronizing my phone with my computer via iTunes are not showing up. How can I get them to show up?

This is from Apple Support:

• You can import only photo and video content taken with the built-in camera or captured on the device. You can't import photo or video content synced from iTunes.

That might be the reason why you can't see them in Windows Explorer. As far as I know there's no workaround.
