Why serial check site calls my iPhone 11 a china mainland ?

Trying to see the authenticity of my iPhone 11 on serial check sites to know if my used iPhone was factory unlocked out of the box but worried to see the phrase china mainland attached pls this is my model number MWLU2ZD/A and it has 2 regulations at the back one rated CE the other a recycle logo

Where did you purchase your iPhone and did you buy it outright or are you making monthly payments on it? If you bought it outright or from Verizon, there’s a “good chance” the phone is unlocked. If you’re making monthly installments then more than likely it is locked to a carrier.

Apple uses the phrase Designed in the US because the manufacturing starts in Mainland China. Looks like yours is a model for the EU community. Pretty sure all are manufactured unlocked and then the lock is added per vendor-meaning carrier choice. It shouldn’t matter, imo.
