White frame appeared

When I tried to dismiss a notification on the lock screen of my iPhone XR, a white frame appeared around the time and date. If I touch the flashlight or camera icons on the lock screen, the frame moves there. I tried turning my phone off and back on, which didn't help. I'm unable to get to the home screen, and the phone will not turn off, now. I can't access my calendar, email, texts, or anything else. Any ideas?

Is there a blue done button at the top right and a cancel button at the top left? If so you’ve accidentally accessed the Lock Screen customizing interface. If the cancel button is there, tap it and you should be back to normal.

Try the following: quickly press the side button three times. You might have activated VoiceOver by accident. If that’s the case, and you’re able to access the home screen again, make sure to disable it in Settings - Accessibility - VoiceOver.
