Where to get ringtones and text alerts from

I am looking for anyone who knows the best app or somehow to get my ringtone and text message alerts changed to a song i like

Jailbreaked already? If not yet, then you can only add ringtones to calls. Get RingTone maker from the app store and simply follow instructions.

+1 that's how I started out but then I found out to convert my ringtones from my blackberry (sigh) and I'm good now. My alert ringtone is run Joe by chuck brown. My wife hates when it goes off. Haha
