What is the best protection in a case for the iPhone 13 Pro Max?

I am looking for a good protective vas for my 13 PM. I bought a pelican Protector which saved my iPhone 8+ many a time but the newest version does not seem to be anywhere near as good. I has a tight fit but not much cushion and the outside surface is too slick.
I have been considering the Pelican survivor, the MOUS .... but there are so many choices and not much independent drop testing.
Any suggestions?

I've always liked the OtterBox cases. Mostly their Defender and Commuter. I use the OtterBox Commuter on my 12 Pro Max. It's not as bulky as the Defender, but offers good protection. Whichever case you get, be sure the lip around the edge is substantial enough. Also the lip around the camera lenses bump.
