I am looking to purchase an Iphone 5C and I have been looking around at prices/ deals etc.
I noticed you can get the 16GB for $99 from Verizon on a 2 year contract and it comes unlocked. (Can be used on any GSM carriers world wide) Please correct me if I am wrong about this.
The thing is, I spend a lot of time in Canada, and don't really want to be locked into a service plan , so I looked at buying the phone outright and it's $549. Now doing some math, it costs $99 for the Verizon 5C, and if you want to get out of the contract it's 350 minus 10 dollars for every month you pay a bill, so at the most you could in theory get the 5C, unlocked with no contract for $99+350= $449 , 100 dollars cheaper than getting it unlocked from apple. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there any flaws In my reasoning or drawback that could come from doing it this way?
