I'll post this here instead of the tutorials section since this tutorial will be obsolete as soon as an Evasi0n update is released. If you have already updated to 6.1.1 on your 4S or would like to and you want to perform an untethered jailbreak, this will enable you to do so. This will also work on any A4 or lower device running 6.1.1 beta firmware.

The only reason evasi0n will not jailbreak iOS 6.1.1 is because the devs have put a protection in place to cause Evasi0n to error out if you are listed on any iOS6 firmware higher than 6.1, so this will trick Evasi0n into thinking it is jailbreaking a 6.1 device.

Step 1: Once your device is on 6.1.1, download the latest version of Redsn0w and an iOS 6.0 firmware for your device.

Step 2: Open Redsn0w, specify your iOS 6.0 firmware under extras, then go back and hit jailbreak. On the options screen choose only "install cydia."

Step 3: After you are jailbroken, go ahead and use the "just boot" option under extras to boot your device to the springboard.

Step 4
: Using a file editor(either iFile if you want to do it from the device itself or iFunBox if you want to do it from your computer) navigate to System/Library/CoreServices and locate the "SystemVersion.plist" file and open it with a text editor.

Step 5: Find the reference to "6.1.1" near the bottom and change it to "6.1" and save the change.

Step 6: Open Cydia and search for and install the "evasion 6.0-6.1 untether" package. Once installed your device will have an untethered jailbreak on 6.1.1.

Once you have completed the process, you should go back into the SystemVersion plist and change it back to 6.1.1.
