Unlocking and Jailbreak for 3GS with 5.01 OS

I recently upgraded to a 4S and want to sell my GS3. Unfortunately, I have just upgraded that phone to the 5.01 OS, and I was told that I needed to unlock and jailbreak it before I could sell it. I have read that software is coming available to do that. I would appreciate any comments on how reliable that software is and its availability.

Okay, here's my instructions.
1) Download the latest version of redsn0w. (i think it's 9.9b8)
2) Close iTunes and start redsn0w
3) put your 3GS into dfu
4) click on jailbreak
5) install iPad bb if option is availibal
6) jailbreak it
7) boot it tethered
8) install ultrasn0w via cydia
9) pop in any sim and boom!!
