unlock confused. need insight.

ok, so I have an iphone 4 on 4.2.1 fw..i KNOW unlock is unavailable for now..

so my question is, after unlocking my iphone can I just use a standard sim card, cut it to the size of the micro-sim card and use that on my iphone??

the last time, was not unlock, I took a regular sim card, cut it and put in the iphone and the phone said no sim card detected..

the circuitry of both sim is different from what I can tell..

so is it interchangable is what I want to know.

AT&T network if that make a different.

You can cut a normal sim to fit but it can be a hit or miss. You can buy special sim cutter tools for the job but I don't know if they fair any better...

I have an iPhone 4 & ordered a special cutter, not on EBay,,,, google it... It works Great!!!!!
