There is no sim card installed.... bla, bla,bla on iTunes

Hi all

I feel like a prise tool! I have just bought an iPhone 3sg from ebay and neglected to read the sneaky detailed description right at the bottom of the page. which stated "PLEASE NOTE THIS PHONE IS NOT RECOGNISING THE SIM SINCE UPGRADING TO OS 5.1.1" . Now after doing a little research about downgrading the OS I have discovered that I cant downgrade without the shsh blobs.

Is this true? Am I totally screwed? or is there a way to get this phone functioning.

Please help me

It's possible that your iPhone was previously jailbroken and possible that it was software unlocked to accept a different sim card..by upgrading your firmware the initial owner could have "locked" the iPhone back to the original network... it may need any sim card from the original network provider to work..? clutching at straws here...
