Texting in landscape mode

Was there some change in IOS 10.3.1 that was/is intended to block the screen from rotating to landscape mode? I just noticed that it's stuck in portrait mode. How counterproductive.....

No, it's still possible. Did you turn on Portrait Orientation Lock? Swipe upwards from the bottom. If this icon is red, tap it to disable it:

I have no issues with mine. Works like a charm. Running 10.3.1 IOS.
