Please forgive me if I’m being really stupid here.
So I’ve just got my iPhone XR, restored it from my previous iPhone SE backup, and all ok.

However, when viewing photos on the XR, I cannot rotate the screen to view photos taken in landscape mode, and no, it’s not locked in portrait because there are other apps that will auto-rotate to landscape properly.

This is slowly driving me mad [emoji34]
Am I missing something really obvious?

Ok, so I’ve sussed it.
I didn’t realise that on the newer phones there’s an option in ‘Display and Brightness’ to select either ‘Standard’ or ‘Zoomed’ view, as this option is not available on my old SE.

So when setting up the XR I chose ‘Standard’ to get more info on the screen, but nowhere does it say you can’t get landscape in ‘Photos’ using Standard view.

Put it back into ‘Zoomed’, and it’s now fine.

I can see I need to be prepared for some more subtle differences on these newer devices.
It’s going to be an ongoing learning curve![emoji57]

I may have been a bit premature with the whole Standard versus Zoomed scenario.
I put the screen back in Standard, and found the landscape now works. Strange, because I definitely couldn’t get it to work at first.
Not complaining though as I reckon Standard View is much better.
