Text sounds while on phone

Thought I had seen a way to turn this setting off but can't find it now. Basically in tired of being blasted in my ear by notification or text or email sounds while talking on phone. How can I disable the sound to phone headset ?? Thanks in advanced.

Unfortunately, I've yet to see a fix for this myself. I've actually researched this question for the past few days since this annoys me as well. The only fix I know of, is switching your silent switch on during calls. Which is impractical IMO. !

I could have sworn I saw a menu that said " play sound thru speaker during call". Hmmmmmm

That's what I thought too. But I have gone thru every option and none of them help this issue.

As a matter of fact I believe I was able to access it pre iOS 5

There is an application "Calltell" which allow us to choose option regarding if it speaks during call or not, I disabled it and everything is fine now!!!

Only one problem. The app store isn't showing results for a "calltell"
